What a year!

Hi, this is my first post on my new website.  I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone and sharing my thoughts and inspirations.

Well, it’s been a bad year globally.  Here in Australia we are almost completely out of lockdown and restrictions which is very exciting but I’m even more excited that my second book, A Hat for Wilbur, is being released on 30 November and is now available for pre order.  It’s a lovely story about my much loved Aussie animals that littlies would love to see in their Christmas stocking.

It follows Wilbur, a quite lazy and little bit vain wombat who desperately wants to find a hat which he feels will enhance his standing in the wombat community.  He enlists the aid of two of his Aussie bush friends and off they go on the quest.  I had a lot of fun writing this book and I get a lot of inspiration from my walks in the Australian bush and on the beaches here where I live.  Just this morning, I heard a grunting in my backyard and went down to investigate and there was the cutest early morning sight – a mother koala with her little baby on her back.  I never get tired of getting a glimpse of our native animals in their natural habitat.  I feel very lucky to live amongst them.

So I would love you to grab a copy of A Hat for Wilbur and have some fun reading it with your children or grandchildren or any little people who love stories about animals.  If you want some history of Wilbur and why he is looking for a hat, maybe also have a look at my first book, Old Hat Creek.
